Art Review

Today, I saw mural art in SF. It was in the mission District. This mural showed about the EL Salvador. And I saw mural about my country Nepal. The mural was painted in order. It was about money year ago and condition of Nepal how people live there. In the artwork, you can see about Nepalese people how they grow crops which I believe represents that they eat food by growing their own and they are pour and hard worker people and they work in their own fields. In the artwork you can see a lady in the past and present which I believe responders that lady was reading her husband letter and she fell sorrow but after war she was happy. It make me feel bed. I like it yes . I want in my house I want to print of it in my house. I am happy in my community because in my community they understand war is bad in community.

Street Fashion

Most of the people wearing Tshorts and pants. I want to were there clothing styles. They look kind of different mist of the people were Tshort and light cloths.There out fit that I suprised because they were very good shoed and they carry bog purse but I like their Tshort very much. The collection of student of U.C Berkely every one has wering the same kind of Tshorts by watching wall of college.

Cultural Review

Today, I experienced about the Latino Culture. One things I learned about this culture is people eat food out of the restaurant and make mural art related to there culture. It is similar to my home country. In this field trip, I saw people are working without caring about each other. I hear people drew a picture related to there cultural. They look like busy. This is similar to my cultural because people dress up like the way they dress.In a field trip, I saw people dress like my culture.this is different then my culture because in my culture married ladles were other kinds of dress, not pants and shorts. It make me crazy because I don't know about there culture. I like there culture because in there culture children are free and if they are above 18 they should not asked to parent but in my culture we should asked to parents. Yes, I will visit that neighborhood again.

Bowling

On Friday I came to school on time and all the students watched the world cup. After watching that I went to my class to take my lunch and journal book. Then we all walked to the bus stop to go Albany. We reached Albany Bowl at first we needed to ask for shoes and I wore it. After that we made teams of 5 students and we started to play. I think it is fun to play it, that was my first time. We had 2 games. In 1 game I lost and in another time I won the game. Inside that there we played many things and we played it by paying money. After that we walked to a park and on the way we saw a dead finch that was cute. We hung out down there for few minutes by watching that dead finch. then we walked to Park and sit there and ate our lunch and wrote in our journals for that day.

About Tilden Regional Park

We all went to Tilden Park on June 10. At that park there is an animal farm. In the farm we saw animals like goats, cows, chickens, roosters, rabbits, ducks, and birds. Inside the farm there are different types of animals like baby animals and mother animals. People who went to visit were able to feed the animals for example they give lettuce and celery to the animals. We also were able to feed the animals. Ms. Julie brought lettuce and celery and gave it to us to feed the animals. It is fun to feed the animals there. After that we all walked to a field and we sat in park and ate lunch. Then some of my friends played ball and some of us sat in the park and watched them. After that we walked to take our bus. It took 20 minutes to reach there and then we took the bus and walked back home.

Tour to SF in Fisherman's Wharf

Yesterday at 8:30am we walk from our school to MacArthur Bart Station. We take Bart to go to SF. We got there and after we walked up from Bart we saw a protest near the Bart station. People were standing there, yelling and holding their posters. We watched the protest for a  few minutes and then we walked through our destination in half way we rested for 15 minutes. At that time we walk to subway and eat lunch.After that we again walk through our destination. It was very far and I was tired of walking and my legs were hurting. After that we reached our destination, a place called Fisherman's Wharf. Due to my tiredness I sat on a bench and looked at ships in the ocean for 1 hour while the rest of my friends and teachers are gone to see inside of the wharf. It is a very beautiful place.

Trip to old Oakland

 At 12:30pm from school we went to bus station and we all went on  bus 1R to reach old Oakland. We wait for the lady who give us tour of old Oakland. After she arrived she take us in one market and we introduced each other. With the help of her we  visited many places in downtown Oakland and visited building in downtown and city hall. Inside the city hall we saw the map of the bay area. I really enjoyed looking at that map I like that map very much. After visiting all places we sat in park and wrote in our journals.

Trip to UC Berkeley

Today at 9:30 am we, all students who have Bay Area Adventure class, went on a trip to UC Berkeley. We took AC Transit- 1 to reach there. We made questions and  interviewed two people with those questions and I wrote answers to what they said.We saw the dinosaur bones,Tower and  Bookstore.After return from  UC Berkeley in way we find crazy person and he followed us after that we ate ice cream in dollar scoop. When I was interviewing the 2 girls I feel cool and I am happy I know about there life ans they give me good answer for my question. This is all about my trip to UC Berkeley.

Tour to SF Mission District.

  We, all the students from OIHS who have Bay Area Adventure class,  went to tour to SF at Mission District and Mission park. There we see the mural  art. It looks beautiful, the environment is green and it is a pretty cool place. The sound we heard was talking about that arts that are made by teenage girls. They never draw before that art is relate about the community where they live there in pictures they include killing people and raping.  The food we tested is tacos and it smell like hot and spicy. All people are look like busy and they are doing their own work. These are the things that we see and test yesterday in mission District.

Writing a Food Review

Today from our class all class students go to the "Pho" restaurant and tested the Vietnamese food. One food we ate is Fried Chicken. It looks like a delicious. It smells good. It tastes salty. Another food we ate is Egg Rolls. It looks like a rolled bread. It smells like a fish. It tastes spicy. About the restaurant it is not big not too small I think it is medium. They serve Vietnamese food. Their menu includes meet, egg, soup, noodles, rice, different type of sauces and vegetable.

Life is a Struggle

I am an OIHS student.
I wonder about my life.
I hear Oakland is the 3rd biggest crime place in the U.S.
I see my family faces.
I want to become a nurse.

I am I am an OIHS student.
I pretend that I am a good artist.
I see people are busy in the world.
I worry about my life.
I cry when someone hurts me.

I am an OIHS student.
I understand Education is the key of happiness.
I say true things to other which give knowledge.
I dream to become a nurse.
I try to become a perfect person

Tika's Blog

Hello, my name is Tika Dhimal. I am 17 years old. I read in grate 11. I am from Bhutan. I lived in Nepal for 16 years and 5 month being a refugee. When i was 7 months old we moved from my mother land Bhutan.I studied in Nepal for 10 years in my Refugee Camp school and I graduated from my school. The time passed on and we got a chance to come to the USA by doing process of  IOM. And I have been here for 10 months in this country.
               My goal is to become perfect in English and a helpful person in my future. When I graduate from high school I want to go to college and study further. In my future I am eager to become a nurse. If I am not I will try my best to become a nurse in my future. I will try to fulfill my desire to become a nurse. That is my future plan.
